started my Humira and other stuff

hey gang, well i finally got to start my humira after my ulcer thing last month. boy howdy did that hurt!  an intense burning like i have not had often with shots. only octreotide was worse. also started on some flagyl and cipro . woo hoo. more D for me. like i can tell. any way gotta do the second shot in about an hour so we will see how that one goes... i will hope for the best. and of course expect the worst! devil

Diagnosed with Crohn's March 2006
Asacol 3 times a day, Remicade 8mg/kg every 6 weeks, Prednisone 10mg/day, (tapering Pred 1mg/month,) Miralax daily, Prevacid 30mg, Vit B12, Hydrocortisone enemas as needed
Imuran stopped 9/8/08 (possible Pancreatitis)
Paxil 40mg daily (for Panic disorder)
Xanax .5mg as needed (for anxiety attacks)

Good luck Randy....

the shots don't hurt every time. I found a nice fat part of my tummy and it never hurts there... I rotate so other spots do hurt more sometimes.

Hah...good luck to you with that. I just started humira this morning and I have to agree about the burning. I knew it would hurt, but I didn't think it would hurt like THAT.
Hopefully it will help us.
I'd like to think that the humira pain is way better than the Crohn's pain.
20 years old, Diagnosed with severe Crohn's and colitis in May of 2008.
Currently taking:
Prednisone, pentasa, alinia, bentyl, prilosec, tandem plus, and the occasional ultracet
Surgery for ectopic pregnancy(very possibly due to Crohn's inflammation) in July of 2008.
Due to start Imuran September 17 depending on blood results.

I just started Humira as well, and I like to think that I am pretty tough, but i cried with the 2 injections in the legs. The belly ones didn't hurt as much. Hope it works for all of us!

Good luck with the Humira Randy, that is my next drug option so will be looking in to see how it's going for you.

3 down. not as bad today. its just so dang burny. im sure each of us is differant in how it feels.. like for me i would rather have surgery than have a filling! the neddle for the novacaine is tremendously painfull for me. and totaly scary.
