My GI just prescribed me percocet for pain.  I've been on this pain med before and never experienced the itching like I did today.  It didn't start until about 3-4hrs. after I took it.  No other side effects are present.  Anyone else experience this?
It really helps the pain so I'm willing to suck up the itching! smilewinkgrin

No experience with percocet, but you may be allergic to it. The drug precautions state:
An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include:

* rash
* itching
* swelling
* severe dizziness
* trouble breathing
I don't know if itching qualifies as life-threatening, but it might progress. Tell your doctor.

Yes, I agree, tell your doctor.

In the mean-time, some aloe vera gel might help. It *might* help to take a panadol too, but I'd try the gel first, and definitely, definitely tell your doctor. These things can progress; Keeper's right.

Hi April, I was getting that from taking Endocet which is similar to percocet. (i think it is a generic form) I was changed over to another drug Tramacet and took that for months before developing an itch, kinda like bugging out, with it too. Every once and a while I get it on codiene, and it never progress more than an itch. Discuss it with your DR and/or your pharamist.
Good luck, Joanna
