okay, so- i was on 6MP for a while but my doc said it wasn't working hard or fast enough and that we needed to bring out the big guns....

i suffer from D after almost everything i eat, and also discomfort/feeling like i have to go fairly often as well.

i've had 3 infusions and haven't noticed any changes at all. my next one is scheduled for nov 4.

should i be alarmed? i haven't seen/talked to my GI since i started remicade, but i've built a pretty good relationship with my remicade nurse... however she doesn't know anything about my disease specifically.

i was hoping this would be a quick and drastic change. :-\
.:brad:. 23 year old male from PA.

I just recently found out that i had Crohns and was started on my first Remicade infusion in July, i have now recieved 2 and my third is October 9 and i have not noticed anything either with the use of Remicade.  I do have a mentor that has been on Remicade for over 5 years and swears by it saying she feels the best now and has in decades of having Crohns and multiple procedures.  So the best thing i can tell you is hang in there and maybe both of us will see some results in the near future.

Sometimes the improvement in subtle. All of a sudden one day you realize you only went to the bathroom 3 times instead of 9. All of a sudden you realize you did not have to take a pain pill today, or use a heating pad, or maybe you just felt a little bit happier, since you are not in costant pain. Sometimes it is not as in your face as everyone wants it to be, but it will get to where you will notice getting some of your life back to normal.

Good luck and do not give up hope.

Give it time. I have been on it over ten years and have no problems crohns wise. I have had several blockages but I attribute those to scar tissue from surgery.

The remicade did take a little while to take effect so do not lose hope. Though I see many people saying they feel different (sleepy, woozy, sick, etc...) after their infusion I feel NO difference at all. I actually make sure I stay up all night the day before the infusion so I can catch some zzzzzz's in the hospital while getting my infusion.

I used to be on remicade but had to discontinue it because it gave me lupus. But do not give up on this med, it will make you feel SO much better.
