I awoke this morning feeling like I am in my 90s, every joint in my body hurts. I had almost forgotten over the summer what this DD does to the joints. Ready or not here comes fall and here comes CD arthritis!

Anyone else feeling the change in season??

I'm telling ya, with the constant neausea, pain, D and now the crippling swelling and joint pain, life's a "female dog" right now.  Just wanna be at home in bed rather than at work.  For some unknown reason my phenegren is not working today either!  Gonna be a long one.  My joints are swelling.  Noticed it when my rings didn't slide over the knuckels this morning.

Supposed now's the time to remind myself how lucky I am to have a roof over my head, food in my fridge and the love of my family.... I think I can... I think I can... choooo choooo!

Hi Texas, I too live in Texas. My gi calls cd a seasonal disease, us crohnnies are always worse in the fall and spring. His admissions to the hospital go up twice a year. He says we nearly kill him during this time because we work his butt off, lol. Hope you get to feeling better, however, I am living very close to the throne these days. I have a intrathecal pain pump and was recently given an increase due to severe joint pain.

How interesting. I have flared now twice since September and just was going to put a post about this. So do alot of people flare at this time of yr? We just can't catch a break... even the temps do us in :)
29 Year old Female. Dx with Crohns 2005. Currently take Imuran 50 mg. Had 3 remicade infusions which put me in remission.
Dx with Pyoderma Gangrenosum Nov '07. Used Prednisone and 3 more infusions to close up the PG.

So do alot of people flare at this time of yr? last yr I was on Prednisone due to PG a related skin condition so it may have kept things under control at this tim eof yr.  We just can't catch a break... even the temps do us in :)

I figured we cronies would all feel this. I want remicade or SOME medication that will help the DD arthritis. Got another name of a "good" GI doctor. So.... I will give it another try. Will try a different tactic - walk in and convince this one to allow me this medication.

Determination: Not leaving until he says yes! hehe - Security!

Pain medication helps but geeze louise, it's difficult at best to get a prescription these days. Darn drug seekers really peeve me to not ends. I hord those little suckers for days like yesterday and today. Gut pain = 8, Joint pain = 6 (but it's all my joints so that adds up to quantity of all joints in body x 6)

How the heck some of you cronies live in colder places amazes me. Hats off to you. Tahiti is sounding pretty darn good right now. :)

Wow does this really fit my situation. I never knew that Crohn's can cause the joint pain. I just never put eveything together. I have had Crohn's for about 13 years. The last two years have really been tough. Obstructions and a resection. Over the past couple of years I have also had issues with joint pain. The past six or seven weeks the joints in my fingers have been aching. I have had a problem called trigger finger and it is really acting up now. I also have terrible aches in my knees.

I recently moved from Dallas, TX to Pittsburgh, PA. The aches and pain is more noticable now and I guess that has a lot to do with the change in weather and the seasons. It has been typical fall weather here the past few days.

Thanks,

Hello to my Texas neighbors and other weather forecasters. Just had my shoulders shot up with cortazone. The fall weather is welcome though because it brings an end to hurricane season and we all could use a break from that. I think we can see a change when the weather changes . Lots more joint pain ,,,,But,,,,still dont think I would trade places with you guys up north...Ask VV about ,,hmmmm,,,lets see,,,,what is that thingy called?????? a SNOW shovel !!!!!!!!!
If we would read the secret history of our enemies,we would find in each mans life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.
