He says surgery for 2 strictures.  My GI only told me about 1 of them shakehead confused .  He will remove 1 and either remove or perform a strictureplasty on the other.  He will try to do it laporoscopically, but if there are adhesions he will open me up. shocked
Turns out that the chief of surgery over him was my original surgeon 23yrs ago!  He said I've done extremely well being able to hold out for 23 yrs.  Said 60% need to have another resection after 10 yrs.  So, I guess it's time.

I've known it was coming, but I am so sick of being on the operating table.  I know, it's all part of CD. shakehead

No date yet.  Waiting for the phone call.  I'll let you know!

I'm not any too far behind you, Stephanie. Blessed w/a 20 year remission after resection, blessed w/mild symptoms the last 10 years since "our friend" returned - but - so much distension above the old anastomosis now it isn't gonna be a "small" or "short" resection I'm afraid. I "thought" I was going to have the surgeries the end of this month - but - we can't quite seem to come to a meeting of the minds on just WHAT is going to be done - so I cancelled most of the appointments. I AM keeping the appointment w/a different colorectal surgeon but even if we do come to a meeting of the minds the surgery won't be done this month. I'll have to reschedule and go back. There is no question about laparoscopy for me - it WILL be open abdomen, odds were against laparoscopy anyway but we'll also be removing both ovaries due to a large cyst on the left and some small ones on the right and my age as long as we're "going in". My first resection was open abdomen anyway so, what the hay.

Good luck and God bless to you! Keep us informed.

Thanks guys. Crohnie, I am sorry you're getting juggled around like this. You are so blessed to ahve had a remission. I only got a few months both times. Maybe this one will do it. I hope.

I don't have permanent cysts, but I do them quite often. They hurt like a bugger! Are yours that painful all the time? That would be rough to live with. Like CD isn't enough!
