Hi there,

My name is Angela and I've had Crohn's Disease (ileocolitis) for more than 16 years.  My disease is mild, and I've pretty much been in remission for several years.  I had my annual colonoscopy last week, which showed mild active inflammation and lymphoid aggregates.  A few days later I had a some blood work ran.  I got the results today and my lymphocytes are low (12% with normal being 20-45).  Does anyone else tend to have low lymphocytes?  Also my neutrophils were a bit high as well as my eosinophil's.

Just curious to know if these results are consistent with my disease.

I cna't say I've ever been told anything like this. My advise is for you to google the info and see what results you find. Sometimes that's the best way to get info.
150mg Azathioprine, Lomotil, Iron, Nexium 2/day, Fentanyl patch, Oxycodone, Baclofin
Crohn's, Fibromyalgia, Several bulging discs, Bone spurs, Osteoarthritis, Osteopenia, Reflux, Stenosis, Strictures, Dengenerating facet joints
2 resections

I had low lymphocytes too, but I did not hear any mention of the significance of that from my doctor. The lymphocytes are the cell-mediated immune system part of the white blood cells. I suspect that they are abnormal because of Crohn's, but I don't have a reference for that. Same for the eosinophils and neutrophils - probably out of spec due to Crohn's.
BTW, one source showed a "normal" for lymphocytes of 15%, so there appears to be some variability.
