I'm new to the bleeding thing. How do you know the difference? I'm having a round of C now, and there was a lot of bright red blood on the tissue. I'd usually ignore that, but there were also several large drips of blood in the toilet bowl. This is new to me, so when should I worry that it is related to CD?

thanks

hi, i bleed often, and used to get worried but the doc said to me if it was bright red blood, not brown or black or old looking then it is normally roids. Or a fissure, etc.... but if the bleeding is new and yoou never had it before it is always best to get it checked. The dripping could be that a roid burst, or straining too much a caused a tiny tear just inside the rectum. Hope this helps. I have this often and it can be pretty annoying as well as uncomfortable. hope you are better

You can have bright red bleeding if you're bleeding from lower down (colon, rectom), dark blood usually indicates bleeding from much higher up...it could be an internal hemmie, your symptoms kinda sound like that...you could always get an exam done to check for hemmies.
