I usually soak for about 15 mins. It does help me. I take a cookbook or something to read and just sit. I use one of those sitz baths that sits on the toilet bowl. I have been using plain water. I didnt know to use salts.
Have a super day.

I don't add anything to the water. I soak in the hottest water possible for around 20 minutes...I never time it, just take a book and read, and get out when the water starts cooling off.

I am guessing this is for hemmies?

Unfortunately I get boils because I shave (legs, thighs, you get it) and the best thing that helps me for those is a 20 minute soak in epsom salt.

I am assuming this will also work for hemmies and/or other irritation from Diarrhea?

I only soak in the tub, and I sit on my bottom, or off to the side. I am leaning back, and with your legs open a little...the water gets there. :)

When I had an abcsess I would just stay in there for a good 30-45 minutes once it was quite painful! That was really the only time it felt managable was when I was soaking! But 15-20 minutes in general I think is good.

Could maybe try one of those donut thingies in the tub so your anus isn't right against the bottom of the tub, might make it more comfortable.
