If I'm going to get hurt doing nothing, it's usually a rib thing. Last week I turned over in bed and heard a "clunk" in my torso that hurt like fury. Two days later I can hardly breathe. I popped a rib out of place. It takes forever to right itself. I'm too cheap to see a chiropractor.

I also have a trick knee. I'll be walking along and the next thing I know I'm on the ground looking up at the sky. Last Sunday, as I was walking along minding my own business like any normal walker, I suddenly went down on the hard dirt road. I landed so hard on my bony knees and shinbone...and somehow managed to scrape the tops of my feet.

I wish I had a video of that because I cannot figure how I scraped the tops of my feet. Anyway, I never even bruised. I suppose there was nothing to bruise as there is no fat or muscle covering my knees or my shins. However I did manage to jam my back, and neck...and re injured my already screaming rib. My knees and shin are just now starting to turn that sickly yellow color when a bruise starts to go away. That's all I have to physically show for the fall. So, I must have bruised my bones.

I am proud of one thing. Not once did I drop the stupid cigarette I was holding when I went down. I am in so much pain.....

Thanks gail,

I do have an appt. with my gp tomorrow. But I'm afraid if she touches me I'll have to smack her. I smacked my gi once when he touched me in a sensitive spot. It's like a knee-jerk reaction that I can't help. And I had to warn my dentist once that if he hits a sensitive spot I'll take a swing at him. He had me take some knock out drug before I came in to have work done. My mother had to drive me there and back. But he didn't get hit.

I too have popped a rib out for no reason.  Oh, I may have coughed or sneezed or some other normal everyday thing, but it seems silly to hurt yourself just doing that.  The last time I popped my rib out I was recovering from surgery and post surgery infection, so you know I wasn't up running around or doing anything to make a rib pop out.  Luckily, my insurance covered my chiro appt.  Dang, he propped me up against a wall and made me bend my knees and learn this way and that way and then, wham!  He threw my into this padded wall.  It popped the rib back in place, but geez, how violent.

Good luck to you.  I hope you rib goes back where it's supposed to go and does it quickly.  I know how painful they can be!

Hugs,
Clara

I feel as if I've been AWOL for a very long time. It's nice to know that I have been missed. Sorry, I couldn't meet up with you on your drive, maybe next time.
I guess I'll post an update on myself.
