Hi Guys,

I am not sure if this has been done, but I came across this research the other day. Click the link below to review.

According to the reasearch whch was carried out on 100 people with chron's and 100 with UC, it showed that 70% of people with chrons went into remission and 50% with UC went into remission. What do you all think?

Also it seems that they are carrying out some investigations into the benefit of the diet into chrons, although it has been found to not work for UC they are looking into the following:

the amount and type of fat in the diet

the effects of whole proteins compared to more simple proteins

fermentation in the gut and its role in health and disease

The link did not work. I would guess that it refers to using helminths to control the inflammation process? The attempts to scientifically study diet have been shoddy. They are treating us as lab rats that all respond the same way to their experiments. The process of digestion is complex and the interactions between gut bacteria and the intestinal immune system are very shadowy as yet. The diet trials that I have seen seem to think that they can treat people like a test tube.

Check out the new meds thread, under the Crohn's Resources thread, to find some good discussions on worm therapy.

We did research on this. It seems to be an upright thing. The problem is it would cost thousands of dollars to treat yourself.
