I started Humira 3 weeks ago and am now suffering from insomnia. I have 2-3 nights where I can't sleep at all and then 2-3 days where I am completely exhausted and can't stay awake.
Has anyone else had a similiar reaction to Humira?

Are you unable to sleep because of a physical thing like pain? Or is it more of a "wired" feeling? I had many restless and/or sleepless nights while on humira but it was due to having lots of joint pain. I was on humira for my arthritis associated with my CD.

yes!! A day or two after the shot, I experience a couple of nights of insomnia. It's crazy. I'm up like all night. However, the day following the shot--that day, I am exhausted!

yup Im on ambien now..its strong and causes amnesia...but I like it because I finally sleep...PS: ambien causes headaches

Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength

I am a bad sleeper anyway, so I don't notice a difference at all. I wake up many, many times a night and always have. The night of my shot (along with Benadryl) is always my best sleep in two weeks.

I'm a life long insomniac anyway (usually takes me well over an hour to fall asleep). I've been good with Remicade, so hopefully i'll never have to experience it with Humira.

If you arent planning on having kids (or if you're male) try Melatonin. It's a natural suppliment. There is also some research that suggests it is good for Crohn's (but bad for reproduction). Once I finish having kids I'm going to go back to it (i've taken it in the past and it works great).
