Hey all, first of all, I've missed you.  Just cuz I'm not here often, doesn't mean I don't think about and wonder about you all!  Life's just been absolutely CRAZY!  But pretty good!
HOWEVER, I have a new prob, and wonder if anyone else with Crohns has experienced this.
I do go to the dr. tomorrow morning, but it occured to me today, that I remember hearing that our eyes can be affected, and although mine never have been, I'm wondering now if this is what's happening.....

On Friday, I rubbed my eye.  Just a little itch or something, no reason in particular, an it took a few seconds and then just HURT so bad!!!  It sort of felt like I had a broken blood vessel deep inside or something, BUT several days later, still no bruising or redness inside the eye.  Just Pain!  Even if I rub closer to my temple because of an "eye itch" it hurts inside (near the nose, but deep inside and all around my eye).  Its really weird and I've also had some pretty bad headaches the last week or so, which I'm prone to anyway, but they seem to be worse.

Anyone else have something like this? eyes

Hi there!

I have eye problems related to my Crohn's but my eyes have always been red (I have had both Episcleritis and Scleritis).

I would ask your doctor about it tomorrow morning when you go in...keep us posted on how you are feeling and let me know if you have any questions!

Take care!

hhmmmm, my eyes aren't really red. My skin for some reason on my face and upper body every once in a while look like I've been out in the sun all day, when I haven't! But that's the only redness I'm dealing with right now. That's why this eye thing has me so perplexed!
AND it's good to pop in! ;)

I am dealing with an eye issue right now also. Still don't have a diagnosis as of yet. I first went to the ER as it started when I was away on vacation I had so much pain and swelling around my eye I could not open it.
Had a CT scan in the ER that showed the eye is being pushed foward. They gave me prednisone in the ER. The pain is much better, but I still have a droopy lid on that eye. Been to the opthamagist, he suggested it could be due to thyroid, but my endocrinologist says it can't be thyroid ( I had mine removed 3 years ago due to cancer). So now I'm waiting to go for an MRI and will go from there.

Eye problems bite!

One thing that my eye does now is the lid will get droopy.  It almost wants to close on its own at times--it is weird!  I think that is part of the Scleritis though.

It is great to hear from you again, CD Mom!  I hope you are able to get an answer soon!

Good luck to you as well Maureen!
