This happened to me once, I found that the only thing that helped was severely limiting my portion size.

I had a terrible time with gas a few weeks after surgery. I have got much better now, but for a few months there, I needed to take an extra-strength Gas-X three times a day to control the gas and bloating. I began to take a probiotic, that helped considerably and I was able to taper off the Gas-X. So far, so good....

Crohn's and UC are pretty darn crappy, but if you can't laugh at yourself, you'll cry.
I'd much rather laugh.
2001 Dx'd with UC.  No remission.  5/2008 surgery, removal of 6" of left side colon.  Dx changed to Crohn's.  Remission for 8-9wks after surgery, symptoms returning after resuming 6MP.

this may not help but i would recommend trying some peppermint tea, or ginger tea - these things can help with gas sometimes. And definitely give the probiotics a go. might take a while to start working.

I know how awful it can be - I'm on antibiotics at the moment for an abscess and I have also blown up like an 8 month pregnant lady!

Daily fibre supplementation so long as you're not a stricturing crohnie (there is typically an adjustment period with fibre supplements which may increase bloating and gas but this is totally normal and worth it for the end results) well as daily probiotics, a good one that isn't full of additives and junk..both daily and indefinitely, flaring or not.

My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)
