Crohn's & Epidural Steroid Injection ( ESI )

Have any of you had an Epidural Steroid Injection? I have Crohn's. Had to have a ESI for the bulging disks and pinched nerve in my back.Hasnt helped the back problem but I have less BM, that are formed. Before the ESI , they werent formed very often.I have cut the BM's in half since the injection. I also had pain the kidney area. The pain dr.( who did the injection) said it should not affect the kidneys..  I had a urine test,, no kidney infection. Had a blood test to check kidney function. Waiting for the results. Anyone's experience is very welcomed. Thanks. Julie

After I had broken my back I had something similiar and yes most of those kind of injections help with d. But it can cause bone problems to get worse. It is a wait and see med to see if works for pain. However I had some pain in the kidney area, but it went away within a couple days (5). How long have you had this pain?

Thank you so much for your reply. I had the kidney area pain for 5 days,.It started 2 days after the injection. It is gone today, tho. I worry because it is the only kidney I have. The back pain, I have had for 6 months. I am spose to have another injection next month. The dr. wants to do a series of 3 before he tries something else. Have a super day. Julie
