Hey guys! Sorry, I wrote in the other thread.........

hold up, I'll copy and paste (sorry, I don't have the net at home, so can only post at work):

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a fantastic weekend - mine was spent sleeping in, eating, dinner with the girls and picnicing on sunday!

I saw the Doc on Friday night after work and he just asked me how it was all going and how I was feeling... he didn't take a look or anything after he heard that it was not hurting as much. He basically told me to just take a second round of antibiotics and show my specialist the abscess when I see him in 3 weeks.... which makes sense I guess, like you said, he's the one who specializes in these things...

So I am on a second round of the same antibiotics and will stay on these for another week. The thing seems to be draining by it's self essentially: whenever i look down there it seems to be taking care of it's self. this morning nothing came out... so maybe it's done, I'm not sure, there's still a lump there... but it doesn't hurt me like it did, only a bit when I go to the loo, and the area is still a bit sensitive in general but nothing bad.

What a relief!! I was so much HAPPIER this weekend just from sheer relief of not having any major pain!!

I will go home (finally) this friday to see my parents.... can't wait.

I hope you all had fantastic weekends and managed to relax before monday hit! I know I'm still in weekend-mode!

Something interesting I’ve noticed is that my crohn’s symptoms have been noticeably better since taking these antibiotics! Which is lovely after the hellish week I had last week!

Has anyone else noticed antibiotics making a distinct improvement in their symptoms? This is the healthiest I’ve felt in a long time!

Some people have had very good results treating their Crohn's with, eg, flagyl.

Yes, i remember my GI tried me on flagyl a couple of years ago - I had a high fever and chills etc that night which put me off and I assumed it was a result of the meds, so I stopped taking it. Might have been worth persevering.

:-) I'm the last person to stick up for Flagyl, Phoebe. It might be a wonder drug for some, but for me it is devil's spawn :-P. I hate the stuff, and it can make me spectacularly ill.

What antibiotic are you taking right now? Cipro?

It's called Cephalexin monohydrate 500mg or 'ibilex 500'....

my last day of antibiotics today... I hope this dreaded thing doesn't come back!
