Ok Ladies....I need help with something too

Hey all Dree here...so i haven't quite figured out how to get through all of this during my period yet...the week before you might as well tag me dead.  i can't move the pain gets so bad and then it's not quite so bad the week of, and then the week after i have some severe pain for a couple of days.  Does anyone have suggestions? i have tried heating pads, drugs, ice....so anything that you could offer for advice would be greatly appreciated!

Dree, Is it cramps from your period. If this has been going on for a few months, I think you should go see your GI. You could have something wrong, a cycst or something.

Hi Dree. I just posted about the same thing a couple weeks ago. You can look it up under my threads. Not much info for ya, just kow how you feel. I would definitly take the suggestion of the post above me in gettin checked for a cyst. There are other symptoms to look for in a cyst such as discharge and smell. But its a good thought worth lookin into. I have the same problem as you as far as the pain goes. So I completely sympathize. I have found that drinking lots o water and staying away from certain foods helps. Also if you arent onthe depoprevara shot for birth control it may be worth looking into. The depo shot, when I was taking it, stopped my monthly periods all together. So that may be another avenue for you to look at. I hope you feel better.

I found that Yaz really helped with me, now the pains are managable with heat. And only a 3 day period!!

I use chamomile tea (everyday anyway) it's known to actually to aid specifically for period because it aids with inflammation which is why I use it everyday for my CD.

:)
My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)

broach - I am also on yaz which helps with the before pains but I find I am sicker now during my period than I was on the patch. But the patch was causing me other problems which is why I went off of it.
27 Year old married female law student (last year!!). Diagnosed w/ CD 4 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD. I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night. I also take a birth control pill to allow some fun in my life.

I too stopped my period with loestrin--I take it everyday and don't take the sugar pills. Not having a period has been SUCH a blessing for me. Talk to your gyn soon--you want to make sure the pain isn't a signal of anything abnormal.

I take a birth control pill (Lutera) for the sole purpose of having a regular pain-free cycle. I recently asked my gyn about skipping the sugar pills to help out with my anemia problems, and she said it was fine. No periods at all now! I love it!
