We were out looking for a lap top for our daughter (grad gift), anyways we were in future shop and a lot of their computers had internet access so I went on all the ones that did and put HW's CD forum up on the screens LOL, I thought maybe I could help spread the awareness of what crohnies go through.

What a brat eh, I must have done this on about 7 computers that were hooked up to the net.

LOL

Goodness knows what the effect is but I'm really glad you did it. I'm sure it had to have reached at least one person that night :) And who knows how many after?

Ya, I would think so...I did it one one computer that was wireless (the latest craze which I fell in love with and is on my list to buy) it has a 27" screen so I doubt anyone missed it on that one...the one I'm gonna buy is a 20", 27 is just waaaaay too big for my liking.

It's made by Hewlett Packard, I don't know what other brands are making/made wireless. This is the home computer I'm buying, the lap tops we've been looking at for my daughter have also ranged but I think we might purchase an HP (lap top) for her as well.

pb4....you're a girl after my own heart. Good job!

I just recently purchased an HP lap top. I had to get a lap top in order to get XP Office. They didn't have any desk tops in XP. I didn't want the Vista or whatever the heck it's called. Then I got a station for it and an extra wireless keyboard, wireless mouse and wireless printer. I have my lap top set up as a desk top. Love it.

I like Toshiba laptops. And the mac/pc thing is a personal choice. I've used both and am not a big fan of macs. However, they don't get viruses! So if you get a PC it is very important that you pay for a virus protection that is 24/7 and updates automatically. I got mine for free from school and other people's businesses will give them to them for free.
27 Year old married female law student (last year!!). Diagnosed w/ CD 4 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD. I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night. I also take a birth control pill to allow some fun in my life.

Wow, great puter info guys thanks...I didn't know that macs don't get viruses (hey, does that include Big Macs from McDonalds??? LOL).

Why not a big fan of macs? I'm curious to know because we are so limited when it comes to puter knowledge so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Probably because I have been a PC user and don't like learning a new interface. A friend of mine has had 3 break down in three years. The macbooks are also small and I like a wider screen and keypad. I just like windows. When you use a mac you always have to worry about your system being compatible with software or when sharing docs w/ coworkers or friends. Its just personal preference.  My brother has one and loves it.

*Grumbles* Man, I wish I had got a laptop as a graduation gift.... //-_-\\... Actually, I'd probably be happy with anything considering I didn't get anything for a graduation gift...

Anyway... I worked very hard and I managed to get me a really awesome laptop for like... $600... :)... Worth every penny! *I was using a Windows 98 desktop before... so, I guess a laptop was pretty exciting for me*

I ordered it from BestBuy.... dunno if they still have that awesome deal... *Last time I looked the laptop that I have went up in price by a 100 or so dollars...*

Hmm... Wait... *Confused* Err... Pb4... you live in Canada, don't you? *Or maybe I'm remembering wrong... so many different people here* Do they have BestBuy in Canada????

I seriously don't know... //^_^\\'
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

Way to go pb4!

I am a toshiba fan also. I have had my toshiba laptop for 3 yrs now, and have not had 1 problem with it. On the other hand my mother-in-law bought an expensive HP around the same time and has had so many problems.

I have an Acer, inexpensive and has been great! Good going! I might do the same. LOL! There's suppose to be a walk for the cure in Portland in June. Another member told me about it and I plan to meet her to participate.
