Lately I have been having some problems with my throat. Sometimes it feels as if my throat is closing. You can tell the difference because sometimes it is harder to breath then others. Is this related to chrons or could it be something else?

I have that happen (throat feels like it is closing, my breath wheezes past the constriction) when I am under high emotional stress or a sudden emotional shock and it has also happened with certain scents, like at nurseries or around high cig-smoke areas.

Crohn's and UC are pretty darn crappy, but if you can't laugh at yourself, you'll cry.
I'd much rather laugh.
2001 Dx'd with UC.  No remission.  5/2008 surgery, removal of 6" of left side colon.  Dx changed to Crohn's.  Remission for 8-9wks after surgery, symptoms returning after resuming 6MP.

It could be Crohn's or a number of other causes. Have you noticed a possible cause - like after eating or lying down or driving in a car or stress or ??? There is the possibility of asthma and that could have a root cause from Crohn's, but would have to be treated separately.

Have you started any new meds or foods lately? Could be allergy related. You may want to keep some Benedryl on hand. Also, have you seen a Rheumatologist? I have Fibromyalgia and sometimes my throat muscles constrict from that. Mine has not been bad enough to affect my breathing. Just feels like I swallowed a car. Do you have fever over 101? Could be strep throat...might want to consider a throat culture.
