I bought the fish yesterday, Jo, and the sad fish looks so much happier. He is moving around instead of moping in a sheltered corner, and the tiny new fish are swimming around him, nuzzling. It's quite sweet.

How did you cope with the 36C yesterday?

The stew is in the oven - it took me ages to prepare because I had to keep sitting down every 10 minutes - and is already starting to smeel good. Will start tidying up shortly, once I've rested a bit more.

Is your daughter doing exams yet? Ours have just started.

MMM, your stew sounds yummy:)
Yesterday was horrid, I hate summer (although its really only spring). Its not quite as warm today, just muggy.
Two more exams next week for Danielle, thank goodness, she is a stresshead.
Glad you have your new fish, my friend swears that her fish tank is mental therapy for her, she says she could look at them for hours when she feels down.

Hey, if it's 36C it may as well be summer :-(. I'm with you. I'm already wilting in the heat, and dreading the next few months.

I'll be thinking of D next week. I hope her exams (and preparation) go really well. When does she get her results?

btw, 12.15 and I've showered and have started cleaning up the mess in the kitchen. I can't believe it has taken me half the morning to do two and a half things...

{{deep breath}}}

1. Get 58 people's computers unpacked, set up and tested. If I get it done today, I won't have to go back in tomorrow!! (I think I can.. I think I can...)
2. "Wow" the out-of-state IT guys so they give a good report to my boss up in Ohio. And ry not to let them see how much pain I am in and try not to look like a gimp with the bum ankle and multiple bathroom breaks. (Note to self: Take up air freshener today when no other females are around. Find place to store in bathroom)
4. If time go to quack shack and get ankle x-rayed.
5. Out of food at the house - must go to grocery store.
6. Find someone to do my lawn - it's in dire need of care. Gave up four weeks ago because CD symptoms too bad.
7. REST and RICE ankle.

Hi Ivy, I'm finishing a little sampler for my cousin's nursery... she's having a baby girl in December. Haven't gotten to it yet today but did manage to get the groceries this morning and the laundry is washing now. It's a beautiful day outside and after I get the laundry done I definitely want to go for a walk.

Hope you are having a good day!

Texan, good luck w/the computers! (I work in IT support.)

Good luck, Texan. It sounds as if you have a hard day ahead of you.

Betsy, is the sampler in cross stitch or some other stitch?

I got through all my essentials and cooked a chicken stew as well as a beef one, so now I have low-residue meals prepared for the next eight days or so. Yay. I also cleaned up most of the kitchen.

Ivy, it sounds like you've been busy! The stew sounds delicious... and getting a week's worth of food done in a weekend is always a treat. Hope you enjoy your meals this week.

The project I'm doing is a needlepoint sampler, very easy and almost finished. I haven't worked on it today but managed to get to most of the cleaning and errands - bought the groceries, cleaned the bathroom (never my favorite task), and did the laundry. I'm happy with that much being done and that I'm feeling better physically today... had some CD upset this week but have stuck with mainly bland foods for a few days... so far, so good.
