It seems like everytime i eat i get a real urge to go to the bathroom. It always varies how long it will take but sometimes i feel like i am not going to be able to control it. Sometimes I feel like it would be so much easier to not eat. Went to the doctors the other day and he did some blood tests and stood samples. I have to wait ten days to go back which will be next monday. He told me to take metamucil but it does not seem to work very well. Have not been diagnosed with chrons or anything yet. I don't know what to do. Just met someone new and he has wanted to take me out to dinner and stuff but i am so scared. Anyone have any ideas or have this kind of problem. The doctor said its normal and that i probably have some sort of ibd. I have never had an accident or anything but i just feel embarrased. I don't know...

How long have you been taking the metamucil? It can take time before you notice improvements with it. I've been taking fibre supplements daily for the last 5 yrs and once my system adjusted when I first started taking them (3 months with excess bloating and gas) then I saw lots of major improvements with my CD and IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), less frequency, firm stools, less mucus, no more bloating and very little gas and able to tolerate eating fibreous foods without getting all gassy and bloated.

Are you eating large meals? Do you chew your food a lot before you swallow? What's your diet consist of?

I usually eat four smaller meals a day with a snack here or there. Usually breakfast I eat cereal or eggs. Lunch time i usually have something quick a sandwich. And dinner it just depends...nothing inparticular. I usually chew my food as best i can. And i have only been taking metamucil for about a week, so i guess i gotta give it time. Its just this has been going on for over three months now and the doctors have always given me the run around until now. So hopefully something can be done. It took them a year to diagnose my little sister with chrons disease and in the beginning she was on so many different medications. She now has remicade infusions.

Ya, you definitely have to give the metamucil more time...it's hard but worth the wait in my opinion. You might want to see about cutting out refined sugar, processed foods and fast foods, as well as caffeine, animal fats and junky preservative stuff. Do you exercise in any way at least 4X/week or anything?
