So I am on the SCD Diet as many of you know....and am doing pheonomenal! My partner looked at me last night and said you look so good and your doing so good...Im in the kitchen about every night though...I have accepted cooking as my new hobbie!
For the most part I am just cooking for 5 instead of two and I eat the left overs for lunch...It just takes a little more planning and effort to cook dinner and lunch...

For those who work what do you usually do for lunch???

Chicken! Usually I have chicken thighs or leg quarters, often with cauliflower and cheese.

I eat a lot of SCD legal beef/chicken/fish taco salads.  I feel like I'm always trying to find more crunch. Add yogurt in place of sour cream, and I add legal seeds and nuts for calories and EFA's. Sometimes I tweak this idea toward mediterranean with roasted tomatoes, bean salads with good EVOO or use red pasta sauces over zuccinni. All of these are easy to cook ahead for, and can be varied easily.

I tend to have a really fast and easy lunch. One is dry curd cottage cheese ~1 cup + SCD legal mayo ~ 2 tbsp + honey ~1/2 tbsp or to taste.
Also, 1 apple, peeled, cored and chopped + 1 or 2 eggs, boiled, peeled and chopped + SCD legal mayo, 1-2 tbsp (not good if gas is a problem for you).

I'm not on SCD but I have done south beach which is low carb and I enjoy Lentil soup quite a lot. It is high in protein too.
27 Year old married female law student (last year!!). Diagnosed w/ CD 4 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD. I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night. I also take a birth control pill to allow some fun in my life.

Curious how/if SCD has improved your symptoms or put you in remission... anyone care to share?

I cannot do the SCD due to certain food allergies, but I find the Maker's Diet helpful. There are some things about the MD that I also avoid, but alot of it is really good for me.

Roni,
Sorry I did not reply before now. I was Dx'd in '02 after 12years of unspecified autoimmune disorder following hydronephrosis. From 2000 until my Dx in '02 I prayed to die. After my Dx and much research on line, the SCD put me in full remission, and pain free from Crohn's and Crohn's arthritis, in less than 30days. The only meds I have ever taken other than some pain meds, was 3 mos of Asacol, when an infection, and antibiotics jolted me out of remission. I was able to regain my remission in about 30 days by returning to the intro diet, and stopped taking the Asacol after I just forgot my dose repeatedly.

Just curious if any of you folks on the SCD diet have had resections. I look at some of the stuff you guys eat and I would die if I ate them now since I have had two resections. I probably could have done these diets before, but I know I couldn't now.
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 33 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain, Zofran, Phenergan, Probiotics, and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis. Currently my Crohns is in remission.
