I may or may not be pregnant.  So I call my GYN office to get a test.  I had to leave a voicemail for the nurse--not a problem as they are supposed to get back to you in an hour.  I left name, date of birth, and a brief message outlining what I needed--a pregnancy test.  I also explained this is fairly urgent as I am on medication for a chronic illness that is not safe for pregnancy.

The nurse called back.  She got the information she thought she needed and then tried to get off the phone (her questions took about 5 seconds).  I stopped her and made sure she was sending me to the right lab (otherwise insurance won't pay).  Then as I am in the middle of another question, she said, "Ok, bye-bye, have a good day" and hung up!  I was in the middle of a question!!!  It's not like I was interegating her or taking up a lot of time.  I looked at my phone after she hung up--less than two minutes!  She hung up on me after less than two minutes!

I can understand if I was being rude, pushy, kept her on the phone for an hour with unrelated questions.......but this is ridiculous!

Ok, bye-bye, have a nice day

Call back and get the information you need. There is no reason you should have been treated that way, and you every right to inquire that specifically. It's not like you're made of money.

Wow! I hope the test results are which ever result you are hoping for :) There was no reason for her to talk to you like that. I would just call back and say "I was just disconnected from Nurse so and so..." lol.
27 Year old married female law student (last year!!). Diagnosed w/ CD 4 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD. I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night. I also take a birth control pill to allow some fun in my life.

Sounds like the nurse did not really care about what you were trying to ask.

Ok I have to admit I have cut someone off in the middle of a question, simply cause I needed to go potty. I would have called back in a couple mins. It may not be rudeness, it could just be something was going on.

Navy - I love how you are always so optimistic. I have to laugh b/c my mother in law just cut me off mid story on the phone, and said "ok honey just calling to check in, love you, bye!" while I was still mid sentence lol.
