has anyone developed pancreatitis? my right side pain is higher up..almost in the middle..right below my rib cage..my symptoms are dead on with pancreatitis (sharp pain that goes right into my back and radiates up and down, oily stools, and nausea) minus the fever and vomiting right now lol..i've read that ur chances of getting it increases with diseases of the intestine (duh crohns!) and being on 6mp and prednisone..which im on and have been for months..whats funny is that my grandma's dog was on prednisone for an allergic reaction and developed pancreatitis because of the pred...i wouldn't be surprised if i had it..these are all inflammatory diseases and can go hand in hand...im definitely gonna get it checked out asap....

Hard to say, can be many things. I had pain exactly like that, and it was my gallbladder. Had that removed. My DH had pain in the same area, thought it was his gallbladder, just turned out to be pockets of gas (or so said the tests!).

Best to go in and talk to your doctor about it. Let them run a few tests and see what's going on. Try not to worry about the worst case senarios until you have to!

I ended up with pancreatitis after having a liver test done and let me just say that, if you have it like I did, you will definitely know it!  I ended up in the ER in the worst pain of my life and vomited 28 times that night (and I'm not a vomiter).  I was doubled over and my ab muscles were constricted so tightly and wouldn't relax that I could not stand up straight.

Crohn's Disease, Acid Reflux/Gastritis, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Endometriosis, Arthritis, Depression/Anxiety.  Too many meds to list them all.  =)

I have upper right sided pain by my rib cage more towards the middle. However I had my gallbladder out last year and I was fine for months but now the pain is back?! The pain will take me to the floor sometimes. So I have no clue! But I'm gonna check into the pancreatitis. My doc seems more interested in medications and a colonoscopy than talking to me about this horrible pain.

I had Pancreatitis a few years ago, and it was one of the worst pains I have experienced. As others have said, it could be numerous other things, ie. Gallbladder, gas, etc. There is a blood test that can diagnose Pancreatitis immediately. It is an Amylase/Lipase. Good luck to you! Blessings, Julie

I had the same problems you are having a few months ago, I was also on 6-Mp and had been since May. Mine first started with 2 weeks of nausea and then the pain started in the upper right side, then I started itching really bad and had jaundice. At first before the itching and Jaundice started they thought it was my appendix, gallbladder or pancreas (sp?) did ultra sounds and Mri and rulled all that out, come to find out it was the 6-mp causing my liver to be toxic, they tested my blood and my bilirubin levels were really high, took me off of it and within a week I was back to normal. I would suggest getting some blood work to rule that out. I had just had my blood tested 15 days prior and my levels were normal, so it came on all of the sudden. Good luck, hopefully you will find out what's going on soon!

I got severe pancreatitis from 6 MP. My dr said I can never take it or Imuran, as it will come back. The tests done to help diagnose panc. were simple blood test of amylase and lipase levels. If they're off the chart, than pancreatitis is suspected. I was in the hospital taken off all food and liquid for days, and had to have heavy duty pain meds. The pain was worse than labor, but I recovered from that attack. I still have some issues with my pancreas, that just being part of my crohn's. I wish you luck you really need to see a dr. because pancreatitis is nothing to play around with. Good Luck!
