So, I know I can do this - I have survived all my other interviews.  But the whole "lunch interview" makes me extra nervous.  I'll just order the safest thing on the menu.  I hope I have an easy out seat so I don't have to make everyone get up if I have to excuse myself. I hope we are walking to the resturant and don't have to drive.  I wish I hadn't drank 3/4ths a bottle of wine Saturday night.  I hope I feel better tomorrow than I do today.  I hate crohns.

But all you cheerleaders have done a great job so far and I am sure I will have a great day tomorrow too.
27 Year old married female law student (last year!!). Diagnosed w/ CD 4 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD. I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night. I also take a birth control pill to allow some fun in my life.

Good luck Fitzy!!

Sounds like an exciting day!! You've thought of some good points . . . but I'll bet you'll be fine. Does lunch happen to be your best time of day? Like after all the morning mission is done??? If so, that might be a big plus!!

Is this a job interview or a client interview??? Let us know how things go.

Blessings!

It is round 3 of a job interview. Lunch is usually an ok time. I have a 3 hour drive to the interview so by the time I get there I should be feeling ok.

WOW !!! I know you've worked hard to get to this point. I just wasn't sure exactly what point you were at in the process. Yup . . . eating and interviewing is a bit of a dance. I usually try to order something I don't have to pick up (like a sandwich), and which requires little cutting and fussing. I wonder if you could get a faxed menu before you go? Then you could really think about it ahead of time.

Good luck Fitzy!!

Blessings!

I wish. I am still waiting to find out WHO I am lunching with let alone where!!! I'll pull it off. I am very clumbsy but confident so the two balance each other out. When I squirt lemon across the table or something I just laugh, apologize, move on.

Ok, the interview went well!! They took me to an Italian place which was a little complicated b/c I didn't want to be slurpping up pasta - so I was going to order chicken and veggies but someone said that I had to try the pasta so I ordered penne w/ chicken and broccoli in a garlic butter sauce. I had to hedge my bets there. I figured broccoli in the teeth and garlic breath was better than spaghetti sauce on the suit, slurpping a long pasta, or anything w/ dairy that would make me take lactose pills. It went fine, I eat slower than most people so only ate about half my plate. It was fun and I enjoyed it. (after taking 2 immodium and a xanax of course lol).

So that is interview 3 at that place, one of the other places I had interviewed decided they are not hiring at all this year, and now I have another place to interview with next week. I should know w/ in 10 days from this firm if I have an offer or not. It is exciting but a little scary because it will involve moving and my husband finding a new job.

Hey Fitzy, I've been kinda missing from the board lately (what with school and all), but I just wanted to say congrats on the interview going well. I've heard a lot about those kind of lunches and I've always dreaded them for the same reason as you. But that's such good news that it went well. I hope you hear good news soon. Congrats!!

Yaaaaaaa! It sounds like it went well. I am hoping for good responses for you. I have given up my job search until after the first of the year. My best opportunity company has a hiring freeze until maybe after the first quarter. It is a tough job market out there and I think you are doing exceptional in the current job environment.

Keep us up to date!
