Hi Guy;s,

as some of you know, I have my GI appoitment tommorow. Getting a little nervous. I am in the process of prep for it. I just need to ask a few question about the day and how it went. Firstly, when you tell you docotr your symptoms, does he auto think IBS or IBD? How does the GI know what he is dealing with through your symptoms? I am scared that I will come away with a get outclause IBS.

Correct me if I am wrong please, but in IBS there should be no inflammation present, and there should DEFO not be any bleeding? Is that correct? Also, I do not really taking cramping pains, just all out pain like someone is kicking my stomach arse. It is like a really bad buring pain, and then just a sitting pain like my stomach has been grabbed and twisted. Also, It is on both the left side and the right side. From time to time, it goes to just by my bellybutton. Should I be telling him that or should it be put as cramps?

Also, accoring to my doctor I have lost over 3 stone in weight. Which cannot be good in an 8 week period!

My blood tests have show heavey inflammation - which of course in just an indicator. How does a doctor judge that?

You see, the problem that I am having is the fact tha this past two days I have been pain free and I am scared that they will say IBS and I have to go through this all again!

Hi Conor as far as I know IBS does not cause bleeding. As for you loosing weight yes he should know that, the Dr. should certainly suspect that it might be something other then IBS from that sort of blood test. You said you are feeling better the last couple of days have you taken meds and write down what ones you took and when you went to ER and how many times.Try to relax and not overstress. lol gail

Hi gachrons,

When I say feeling better, compared to the previous few months anyway. My GP gave me tremodal 60mg for the pain and they have easied it was off. Gachrons, with that blood test showning inflammation only last thursday, it should still be active if the amount the doctor was talking about is correct. Also, even when in remission, chrons is always there, is that right?

Hi Conor I don't know about the blood but have been reading up about bowel thickening in CD and how it shows up on CT scans that can help DX, CD. Well as far as crohn's always being there I would think there would be some scaring in the intestines or bowel thickening if this is treated early it can be slowed down . If I were you I'd read back on your post and sort of write down about what has been happening to you in case you have forgotten something important .Yes tell him about where your pain has been and if you were able to go to work or in bed some of what the pain has prevented you from doing. lol gail

Yeah, I will scan my previous post and note down from that. I have been off work now for over three weeks with this thing and it is getting out of control when it effects your life like that. I enjoy working and earning my own money instead of being paid sick pay. You don't earn it, its not yours my dad always say. And me ma was giving out at me yesterday, you'll never find a purse on the fire place? Huh, Ireland golden generation, full of heart. LOL...
