I went for my SBFT today the GI dr was looking for fistula from small bowel to colon.  The radiologist said no to that, but said preliminarily he saw lots of twisted small bowel at the ileum where I had previous re-section.  That explains all the pain I'm in I guess and maybe the motility issues of late.  My question is does this mean another surgery?  Has anyone had this and done something else to resolve it?  My mom works in radiology at the hospital, that's why we got the skinny early, but I still have to wait for GI to call.  Just kinda wanting some thoughts or advice while I wait.

Thanks and love to all,
kimmy

Hi Kimmy glad it wasn't a fis. and if you do have to have surgery maybe they will be able to untwist them without having to cut them, hope things resolve soon. Was your surgery a open incision? lol gail

Hi gail my re-section was a cut from belly button to pubic bone. They removed 18 inches at the ileum, 6 inches at the sigmoid, removed my appendix, and an ovary. That was 4 years ago and I really don't want to go through another surgery. Oh well, this wonderful disease! The worst part to me was the NG tube for 4 days. I hope if I do have to have surgery maybe things have changed as far as that goes. Thanks for your support.

Hi Kimmy the NG tube I had was taken out on day 3 I think gee it itched and that was the only thing that I minded as I couldn't feel it. Keep in touch and let us know how it goes. Maybe there are others who have had twists in there who will respond.. lol gail
