I will be having colonoscopy soon.  Do you have pain once the procedure is over?  If so, does the  Doc send you home with something to help the pain?

I wasn't sent home with anything. I just remember having a lot of gas - not pain.

The procedure is not bad, cause you are sedated. Good luck

I am usually crampy and have alot of gas for a couple days after. Nothing too bad. I took GASX for the gas and used something like Bentyl to help ease the cramps. Good Luck!

you may have a bit of pain and bleeding for a day due to biopsies...my doc took 8 biopsies a few weeks ago and I had some bleeding/pain after. he said it was normal since he too kso many biopsies...the pain and bleeding were gone the next day. good luck!

Just gas for me... and some more gas... and then, yeah... more gas. Nothing too major for me, but I think there was only two or three biopsies, so maybe I got out lucky the last couple times.

I just had mine a few days ago- for about 24 hours after the procedure, there was nothing but a ton of gas. The first few bowel movements were painful (due to the scraping they did from the biopsies), but with Percocet and Klonopin (to relax myself), I was able to get through it relatively easily. Unfortunately, this was the colonoscopy that gave me my Crohn's diagnosis at the ripe old age of 18!
