Hey another hockey fan and one who is a fan of the best team!  I grew up in Western NY, but watched CBC and CHCH my whole childhood.  Maybe you can provide sympathy for me after the Montreal loss to Boston.  My husband is a Bruins fan (I know what was I thinking???).  I really was enjoying the Bruin beating streak we had going.
Keep strong....Montreal will rise again...100 seasons strong and counting (can you get me tickets to the All star game? idea )

I only have one question about hockey, other than, why cant I see the puck ???Looks like they just skate around chasing someting thats not there, cant they paint it purple or make it bigger,,, but I digressed..My one question is, why dont they ring the bell between the rounds of the fight???

eeewww Sniper...you hit on one of my touchy subjects. The whole make the puck glow on TV thing. It irked me so much because they would never make the football glow on TV. Hockey is a sport you have to watch more than once and you really appreciate it.

As for the fights....too many teams now so anyone can make it into the league=more fights that are boring. The old days the fights were actually entertaining as there were personal feelings involved not just the goon mentality. Ding Ding Ding Bring back the speed skaters and finesse guys....Guy LaFleur where are you?????????????

lamb....sorry can't love the Pens but I do respect Lemieux and his investment in the game

Come on now, footballs are a weeeeee bit bigger and are not moving at 900 mph. I'm not talking about that glowline they do on TV, thats sucks, just make the puck a little more visable itself. Ive never been to a real game, not very popular in hot climates, the Zambonie keeps kicking up mud,, so I guess it is much better than on TV . That does not stop me from watching though. After all, having crohns , I sometimes feel like a goalie, I never know what z puck is coming next..

Hockey just isn't the same for me anymore since they changed some of the rules yrs back....sounds like I'm dating myself by saying that (sniper, hold your tounge on that remark...or keyboard in this case) but really I'm not that old, not in my decrepit mind anyways.

And now they've changed the anthem???? Why don't they just let monkeys play too?

:)

Holding my tounge,,,,eeeeew slippery... But I dont think I would say anything being older than dirt myself. After all , I remember when football was played in a cow pasture with a pumpkin. Object was to see who could run with the pumpkin, from one end of the pasture to the other with out getting tackled or stepping in something.

pb...I thought I would hate the no redline rule, but I am liking it now....a little more finesse on the ice

Thanks for the second vote on the anthem...at least i forget are you Canadian or American???? I went to a playoff game in Philly last year and they did not play the national anthem. They played God Bless America. OK so Philly is the home of Kate, but the national anthem should be played. save the others for in between periods. Since I am a Montreal fan in the states, I sing both anthems---pride in my country and respect for the other.
