Hi all, well I promised to let you know how my surgery went for a fistual to my bowel the top of the vagina and resection.
It didn't go as I had hoped the surgeon thought it was too much to do all at once in the end so I woke up with an ileosotomy!  So now in around 3 months time I have to have another surgery to put this back.
It was a bit of a shock as he had told me he thought it could all be done at once.
However for the fear and worry of surgery itself it isn't that bad it's quite bearable with all the pain meds, I had it done Saturday morning and was at home Friday evening.  I had a cathater too which was annoying but not painful.  I've been home now for 5 days and already I can pretty much eat what I like and am able to sit and watch telly as if nothing was wrong at all.  It hurts a bit to walk too far but nothing worrying as I can always sit back down and be in no pain.
I'm a bit scared now of having the ostomy put back as I hear you get bad diaoreah and it's painful so bit gutted I can't look forward to getting better every day with that looming over me.  However I think I'm coping with it quite well it's easy to change and can be hidden under clothes quite well and can be forgotten about until change times so not as horrifying as I thought.
