Hi all,

I go to my GI this Friday but I like to run things by you guys before I go.

For months I've had on & off pain around my belly button. It's not constant but it's very tender, to the point that I'm careful when bending & sometimes have to avoid sleeping on my stomach. I know the terminal ileum is in this area but none of my scopes, etc. have ever shown activity in this area (I'm a Crohn's colitis girl). It's not at all unbearable but it is painful and bothersome. It seems to come in spurts of a week or so at a time. I'm hoping it keeps up til Friday so I can show my dr exactly where it hurts. Anyone have anything similar?

p.s. There's an article in September's (I'm a lil behind) Glamour about autoimmune diseases being on the rise. Crohn's, UC, celiac disease, MS, lupus get mentioned.

Crohn's Colitis - officially diagnosed Feb. 2005

The only time I have pain in the belly button area is when I am having obstructive type pains. And with those its a pain that comes in waves, much like labor pain. Could just be referred pain from some other area of your intestinal tract to. Maybe when its hurting draw a "x" on the spot so you can show the doctor:)

Hope you get feeling better soon.
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 33 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain, Zofran, Phenergan, Probiotics, and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis. Currently my Crohns is in remission.

Not to be weird but when I had gallbladder problems, I did a lot of web searching on it and encountered this one guy who had a hernia behind his belly button. Could be that as well as any of the other thoughts above.
27/f/CD. 4 CD related surgeries: 2 resections, 2 JP drains, 3 NG tubes, many absesses (including the one my most recent surgery scraped off my ovary) and fistulas.
Currently trying to figure out hip and knee joint pain.
Have lost in these surgeries: appendix, 8 in. intestine, R fallopian tube, gallbladder, 10 in. intestine
Dx'd: February 2007.
Pentasa (and much mental screaming)
