So I know there are quite a few SCD dieters on here. I want us to discuss what we are cooking and preparing for thanksgiving! SCD legal foods and dishes...If you can link to the recipe that would be great! I know Turkey is legal so we can start there!

Great idea! I have a legal pumpkin pie that's really good, and a cranberry frozen salad (kinda slushy) that I altered to be legal.

I may make the candied squash and/or the mashed "potato" recipe from this site:

Mashed cauliflower- with lots of cheese and butter- makes an excellent replacement for mashed potatoes. I've not checked out the recipes that EMom points to, but I'm sure those are good ones, too.

With the exception of those recipes that rely heavily on artificial sweeteners, the low-carb (reads: Atkins) type meals should be good reference points for an SCD holiday meal.

But who's kidding who? Brine the turkey, if it's not already, and cook it breast-down so it's self-basting. If done correctly, it'll be fall-off-the-bone tender. One year we did this and it literally collapsed off the bones. Yummy.

Here are a couple links to SCD Thanksgiving recipes.

I begin 100% SCD next Monday, so I'll still be able to have some "regular" Thanksgiving favorites. The one thing I know I'll make SCD is the cranberry sauce (going to try honey instead of sugar).
