rolleyes I've been taking a shot of humira a week since Sept. my cholesterol is sky high, and now I can hardly walk. I thought it was the meds for my cholesterol, but I'm to the point I can hardly walk. Its the muscles in my legs , and my arms feel like someone punched me most of the time. I'm always tiered, but I can't sleep with out a sleeping pill. I'm really starting to think its the humira. eyes

Does anyone have any suggestions ??? I've talked to my GI, He said there is a new shot that has just been approved for crohns. I'm sick of trying new things, but I like to walk!!!

I agree with ga, but also wonder if you have tried injected MTX.
I never tried humira, but I did get remi-induced lupus and that sounds like there might be some of that going on...Ides I think put it best...it is like trying to walk thru chest deep snow and every movement hurts.

gachrons, I have the most normal thyroid anyone can have. Its funny in stead of saying I had crohns my Dr just knew it was my thyroid so, I took that radioactive pill and my numbers are right in the middle. smilewinkgrin

MMMNAVY, I could not have worded it better, it is like walking through chest deep snow, and I want to cry it hurts so bad at times. I've been taking 2 darvocet two or three times a day and it don't help much. It seems like if I sit with my legs straight out in front of me its better. But the humira helps me so much with the crohns. The thought of 15 to 20 D"S scares me. My GI was talking about a new shot called cimzia, from what I read its about the same as humira. At least the same side effects. shocked

Dawn, have the doctors considered fibromyalgia? I'm curious about your sleep difficulties.

Ne ne, just to be on the safe side get the doctor to do an ANA blood test. If that comes back elevated, they can then do some
more thorough blood works....

Don't ignore these symptoms, you're body is trying to tell you something...
Good luck honey!

NeMe, in addition to the ANA, make sure they do an anti-dsDNA antibody titer. My ANA is always negative but I have a positive anti-dsDNA titer along with many of the lupus symptoms. If your doctor is open to this blood testing, having a C3 and C4 complement with further assess the level of inflammation in your body. Good luck. Can you get into see a rheumatologist? Also, I personally would not agree to try a new medication until they find out what is causing your current problem. Should you have any reactions to the new med it would be hard to tell what is causing what. That's just my opinion but something I feel strongly about. I definitely had the lupus while on Remicade and switching to Humira made it much worse.
