Doc! You can do it!!! You've come sooooo far!

You need a plan, though. Make yourself some legal treats and take them to work with you so you'll have something when they all have something. I buy a legal chai tea in bulk at my health food store. It's reminiscent of a wonderful coffee drink, and it's great with honey in it! Can you eat pecans? I used to make sugared pecans for the holidays; I've since altered the recipe to make them legal. When they're baking in the oven, if you walked into my house you'd think I was making a pecan pie! You could throw these in a container and take them with you for a treat. Let me know if you want the recipe!

Hang in there!

stay at your desk, drink plenty of water-you'll either be at your desk or in the bathroom! Also, walk around or away from the treats. Remember: they are only treats if it TREATS YOU WELL! Good luck!

On a lighter note I decided to go back to school and become a hair stylist! after 10 years in banking and finance...I can not stomach the economy and stock market anymore! (pun intended) As a cosmetologist I can be my own boss, make excelent money here in the city!, make my own schedule, make people feel better about themselves, chit chat all day with wonderful people! And make people look FABULOUS!

this will be my first holiday season with no gluten, so I sympathize. However, I am able to remind myself that a year ago I was really sick and now I feel great, so that is certainly better than ANY food. Just focus on people around you and try to ignore the food. and hey, Doc, my first career was in hair and
it is a great life. I moved on to become a English prof and yoga teacher, but I still have my license and still think of myself as a hairdresser. good luck. yp
49 y/o woman.  Diagnosed 4/06 after colonscopy, SBFT, CT-scan all showed crohns. 3 months later, after pred and remicade, all tests showed no crohns. December '06 had adhesions cut through a laparoscopy. Now taking Glycolax, Ultra Fiber Plus, Florastor, and DHEA. Have become gluten-free diet per naturopath's tests.

Doc,
Great job. My co worker does not even eat sugar. She is the best candy cook I have ever known, and makes everything. Then she laughs at us when we eat it, cuz she knows. I plan on returning to the SCD after the first, and am trying to avoid her goodies. Good luck for the other 29 days, sometimes it is like AA, one day at a time. smilewinkgrin

Crohn's for life, symptoms included terrible joint and soft tissue pain, just met first cousin who suffers from Reactive Arthritis-explains sooo much. Great control on SCD (when I'm good) and I get by with a lotta help from my friends!

I indulged my sweet tooth over Thanksgiving, so I think I'll be good to go the rest of the season. Plus, I've managed to convince my brain that I'll be fine without all of my old goodies. I won't have a whole lot in the way of temptation though, so my resolve won't have to be thoroughly tested.
