So I mentioned in another thread yesterday that I will be changing careers next year...I am going to cosmetology school to become a hair stylist...I have been lining my ducks in a row so that I can support myself financially during the 10 - 11 month program. I was wondering about unemployment and also this will be my first time in 10 years without any health benefits which is a big step for me...I can use any thoughts and information on getting some kind of assistance while I do this...I did hear about vocational rehabilitation for people with chronic diseases.

Thanks all!!!

can you get on COBRA? it is really expensive, but for 10 months it might be worth it.
49 y/o woman.  Diagnosed 4/06 after colonscopy, SBFT, CT-scan all showed crohns. 3 months later, after pred and remicade, all tests showed no crohns. December '06 had adhesions cut through a laparoscopy. Now taking Glycolax, Ultra Fiber Plus, Florastor, and DHEA. Have become gluten-free diet per naturopath's tests.

I am going to take my 401K and use it to pay for my child support for my little girl...it should cover the whole year so at least she is taken care of with no questions.
