I was diagnosed with chrons in july but have never had problem other than the occasional spasm. More recently i have been incredibly nauseous every morning. I am not currently nor have i been on any meds in the last 3 months. Is the nausea a normal problem with chrons or do i have something else? Oh also I'm not pregnant.
Thanks

Gachrons she said she is NOT pregnant. With Crohns when nausea presents itself it usually means that there is some narrowing or a stricture going on. I would contact your GI about
this. You will probably need to have another C-Scope or SBFT done to check for strictures. I take nausea meds daily, Zofran in the a.m. and Phenergan at night. But my nausea is related to my resections and digesting different now. But when I had nausea like yours, it was because of a stricture. Good luck and keep us posted.
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 33 years. Currently on Asacol, Prilosec, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain, Zofran, Phenergan, Probiotics, and Calcium. Resections in 2002 and 2005. Also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis. Currently my Crohns is in remission.

SBFT = Small Bowel Follow Thru. Very easy test, you swallow two cups of Barium. They wait about
15 min. and then take xrays every 15 to 30 min (I forget) until the barium passes thru your intestinal tract. The test is looking for narrowing or strictures in your intestines.
If you have one (stricture), it depends on how bad it is. If it is narrowed becuz of inflammation they will put you on meds to get the inflammation under control. If it is from scar tissue, no meds will help and usually if its bad enough they will do surgery. But sometimes they are able to go in with a c-scope and stretch it
open for you. Hope that helps. Keep us posted on what your doc says.
