I was wondering if anyone here takes Tylenol before they have their Remicade infusion?

Thanks so much!

I used to at the very beginning when I started remicade, but then I stopped. No one could ever tell me exactly why I needed to take it. I stopped taking it about 2 years into infusions and spent the next 4+years with NO pre-meds (not even benadryl).

I take a tylenol and benedryl before every infusion.

I received Tylenol and Benadry/Zrytec before my first three infusions. Premedications are given to reduce the potential for infusion reactions.

My GI has me take two extra-strength Tylenol 1 hour prior to infusion. I also take it every 4-8 hours post infusion for 2 days because sometimes I feel "flu-like." I'm not really sure why Tylenol is used as a pre-med though....... Blessings, Julie
