I use extra virgine olive oil, inside and out (I use it as a moisturizer) and I cook with it pretty much everyday.

I haven't used it, but I have looked into it. I'm also really curious about grapefruit seed extract. I've used wild oregano oil myself for an ear infection and my son used it last winter to try to avoid a bronchial infection. He wasn't successful. I could definitely tell it was working against my ear infection.

Jini Patel Thompson discusses wild oregano oil as well as olive leaf extract a bit on her website. Scroll down about half way and you'll see the discussion:

EMom, I haven't ingested grapefruit seed extract (yet tongue), but have used it for many other things. I have a mouthwash with GSE in it, and don't get sores on my gums anymore. I have a bird, and they are very sensitive when it comes to fumes and cleaners, so I use GSE to clean her cage and to wash off fruits and veggies she eats. My dog suffers from allergies, and ends up getting yeast and bacteria problems on his skin and ears, so we use GSE on him as well. Very versatile turn!

PB4, do you smell like a martini ? I am wondering if olive oil would help this rash I have been fighting, or maybe GSE ? With the olive oil and some wild oregano oil I could smell like a pizza.. Maybe my wife would nibble my ear...

LOL, no sniper I don't and I don't smell like an Italian restaurant either LOL...definitely give it a try on your rash, it will likely take a few days (or longer depending on how bad the rash is) for it to clear up, just make sure you use the good stuff imported from Italy...whenever my hubby wants me to nibble on his ear he rubs chocolate on it and it works everytime LOL!

I'm going to try the olive oil. I am so tired of this rash and nothing the docs give me does anything. Why didn't I think of chocolate ??? I must be losing it...

Ya, chocolate should get her every time, it does for me LOL...if you don't have any success with the olive oil, try chamomile tea on the area, when I was a kid and had severe eczema (no RX would clear it up) I bathed every night for 2 weeks in chamomile tea and it worked like a charm...actual tea buds/leaves from chamomile, just soak some in hot water for about 6 minutes then place it on your rash area and wrap it with cheesecloth for a while (hour or so) everyday until it's gone.

Good luck!!
