I am out of the hospital, and my doctor gave me Prilosec (Omeprazole). I am still waiting to see if the blood will go away. Anyone have any experience with this drug?

Yes I take 60 mg per day.  I have Crohns disease and also suffer with Gerd/Acid Reflux.  It really helps to keep the stomach acid down.

Been living with Crohn's Disease for 33 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain, Zofran, Phenergan, Probiotics, and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis. Currently my Crohns is in remission.

What are your symptoms of reflux? I do not even think I have any.

I take this drug and LOVE it!  I have esophagittis (spelling?) plus Crohn's and Prilosec REALLY helps with the horrible, painful reflux and heart burn I get.

I started taking it when my prescription drug plan took NEXIUM off it's preferred list. I take the prescribed kind, not the OTC kind. Don't know that there's a difference in that, though. Seems like there SHOULD be...

I've had no problems with it. It usually keeps my stomach from an aching/burning feeling. Heartburn? Acid reflux? I don't know. Never been Dx'ed with either.
Diagnosed in October, 2004 at age 32.
36/F/SC
Current Rx's: Colazal (generic), Nexium (generic), Ferrous Sulfate, Librax, One-A-Day multivitamin, Probiotic, Omega-3 Fish Oil, Vitamin D, Vitamin A, Calcium-Magnesium-Zinc, Cranberry pills, Chromium Picolinate
Secondary conditions: mouth ulcers, joint pain, swelling ankles, extreme fatigue
Previous/occasional Rx's: 20mg Prednisone taper, Flagyl, Levaquin
No surgeries to date

I do and it works really well for me. I notice a difference when I am late picking up my prescription for this..the acid and hernia are NOT fun. I haven't noticed any side effects either.

I take the OTC dose for heartburn. It works really well for me. If I don't take it I get heartburn/GERD in the middle of the night and sometimes end up throwing up. Bad.

How long did you have to use it for the bleeding to stop?
