Hello Survivor49,

I'm in DC and my GI is Dr. Allen Ginsberg at George Washington University Hospital (Medical Faculty Associates) in Georgetown. www.gwdocs.com Dr. Ginsberg and Dr. Orkin (my colorectal surgeon -- also at GW) both saved my life. Dr. Ginsberg and Dr. Orkin specialize in IBD and both are very busy. I think Dr. Ginsberg is a conservative Doc who takes CD symptoms seriously and I think he has seen it all. If you can't get in with Dr. Ginsberg, the other GI Docs are also good. I like University/Teaching Hospital Docs because they are paid a salary rather than by the procedure (i.e., they don't need to operate in order to get paid) and they tend to collaborate more with their peers (being teachers, they share knowledge). There is a Metro stop a block away from the Medical Faculty Associates building and a parking garage below the building.

Hope you find someone!
Diagnosed early 2007 with rectal Crohn's.  Several peri-rectal abscesses and two fistulas with setons.  Allergic to Remicade and Humira.  Currently on 6MP.

Fall Colors and Guy . . .

I just had my ileostomy reversal surgery with Dr. Orkin, he's terrific. I live up in Takoma Park, MD, so I have been seeing the Docs at Capitol Gastroenterology up in Silver Spring for over 10 years now (I have had crohns for over 30 years). Dr. Finkel is my guy and he's a great gastro guy . . .

Take a look at Metropolitan Gastro Group (mggdocs.com) with offices in dc and chevy chase. Been going there for 5 years. In addition to the regular practice, they have a research practice with clinical trials, so docs are up on latest therapies.
