hey everyone

As many of you know, my husband justin's crohns diagnosis changed to cancer after his resection surgery on Tuesday morning. They ended having to go into him twice - once for the first resection of the stricture and then again after discovering it was cancer to remove much more and get the lymph nodes in the area. Well, just a short 48 hours later they gave him the green light to go home!! He's passing gas, having loose stool, eating solid (but soft) foods, and walking easily. The nurses are amazed! I am amazed!

We decided to stay one more night to make sure the solid food passed smoothly and we'll be going home in a few hours.

He's taking some pain meds still but is almost off the prednisone! I wonder about probiotics now that it is colon cancer and not crohns... This is all so crazy!!!

Anyway, we are still waiting to find out about the lymph nodes. All I can think about are those test results!! I just want this to all be okay. I'm staying positive but still very scared. Thanks for being here and I'll me you know!

was it crohn's AND cancer or cancer that they thought was crohn's? I am really happy that he is doing well.

okay, we are home now. Right before we left we got the test results. So, they removed and tested 26 lymph nodes... 1 had cancer in it. Good news and bad I guess. I was really hoping they got it all but 1 isn't the worst. Off to chemo I guess! I have a lot more research ahead of me...

Survivor - they are saying it's not crohns at all, just colon cancer. But everything indicated crohns! He even had an abcess - common for crohns, not for cancer. His symptoms were the same as crohns and he is only 34 years old. The biopsies were negative, but the cancer was hiding in a stricture!

Thanks again everyone!! What a roller coaster!
