It seems I have inflammation & ulceration in the terminal ileum, also ascending colon shows colitis & ulceration, plus a small
stricture in that area also. I have to await the results of 5 biopsies before he decides on surgery or not....

I was also supposed to have had profofal anesthesia, but they couldn't find a free anesthesiologist to give it. They gave me
250 microgams of fentanyl, with 14mg's of versed, it just didn't touch me. It was so painful, but that seemed the better option
than canceling, and having to do the prep again. I find it so hard to believe, that in a huge hospital (St Louis University hospital)
they could not have found an anesthesiologist to put some IV meds in & watch me for about 45 mins... BUT I swear as God is my
witness, it wont happen again. I'm just so versed resistant. I think the doc realizes that now. He couldn't apologize enough. Oh well
it all over now. I'm hoping that I wont need surgery just yet, my new grand baby is due at the end of January, and I want to be up
and about...

Thanks for listening to me rant, I think I'm over it, or at least I will be, when my distended tummy goes down (smile)

Ps. Does anyone knows what a retroflexion is??

Hi Gail, on one of my photos from my scope it says retroflextion. I'm guessing it's maybe a different way of using the scope!!
Don't know why it was only on one shot though....

Aww Vicky so sorry to hear you had such a horrible experience. I had one c-scope like that once that was so painful and I told them before the next one, that best not happen again. Luckily I was properly sedated for the next one. Hope whatever the outcome, you get feeling better soon.

Hugs,
Gail *Nanners*

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with the scope. The problem finding an anesthesiologist may be due to it being so close to holidays (Christmas and Hanukkah). I know a lot of people around here left mid-week to avoid the travel rush. Just something to keep in mind if you schedule again in December next year. Hope you feel better soon

Retroflexion is when he steers the scope to look back on itself, basically looking out rather than in. They use it to look behind folds and such. picure crooking your index finger.

Hey I just thought if he did that with the scope he would have been able to see the sun shining out of your backside.!!! Ever heard that saying Vicky?
Sorry about your experience, not good enough and I would have fled.
