You know one of the side effects of Pred is the mood swings.  What I find wierd is that the lower I go down (at 15 mg/day now) it seems the crankier I get.  It always seemed before I would get the cranky's while on higher doses, but that is definetly not true this time.  This time I am one big B*T%H. shocked nono devil mad

I feel good, just cranky:)  I just knew you guys could relate to this one, thanks for letting me vent.

Yeah this stuff gets you feeling better fast thats for sure.  But ooohh am I a touchy girl today.  Luckily I am recognizing it and able to keep control of my temper.  I am normally a very mellow and easy going person, but add the Pred in and its like you are the exorcist with your head spinning around spewing green stuff:)  Whats weird is I don't have any insomnia or anything, just cranky:)

I'm glad I'm off prednisone right now... When I was on 40mg even the littlest thing would set me off... Once I dropped a wire whisk on the floor and I wanted to just tear things apart... //@.@\\'... And I'm usually such a calm and gentle person...
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

tsitodawg-oh the apologies...they are endless on steroids.
I think it is rather strange that so many of us, normally laid back and mellow, can be so easily transformed into the exact opposite! It's terrible and you inevitably misrepresent yourself. It's a bit sad when you have to meet someone for the first time while you're on a drug that forces you to display who you absolutely are not.

Hey Nanners. So you're on Defcon1 alert right now, eh? I always call my family and let 'em know I am on the "juice" (prednisone) due to my moodiness. I start chewing on people for nothing. :( I just chewed out a Toni & Guy student for not sticking to my hair formula and hen cursed at her instructor. Been going there for years... now, not sure if they will have me back. lol

Hang in there. I have to be extra careful at work so I don't piss anyone off...

I am normally one of the most laid back people that you will meet, but put those steroids in me and I transform into a ticking time bomb. My poor wife can not even be in the same room as me when I am watching my beloved Utah Jazz or Byu Cougars play. The words that come out of my mouth on a bad play even suprise me. I am very consious of the roid rage at the time, but it seems like I am saying the bad stuff before I can stop myself. Does anyone ever notice that when you are on steroids that you you end up doing a lot of apologizing? I can plan on getting into atleast one argument with my Father in law while I am in the steroid months. This last time I told my wife that I was going to wait to talk to him when I had finished my steroid taper and was normal again. Needless to say, what was supposed to be 2 weeks on steroids turned into a 7 month period of @*&&. I am finally off them and now onto the road of redemption. For the first time in the nearly 5 years that I have been using steroids off and on, I finally asked my doctor for some Xanax. This save my marriage and made for some interesting experiences, but I should have had this on hand 5 years ago.

Yup, pretty much the same thing happens to me, except that I root for the Jazz and the Utes. How 'bout that Utah/BYU game, eh??? ;)

Entocort 9 mg/day, Prednisone 20 mg/day, started Humira 1/22/08, started 100 mg of Azasan (Imuran) 2/20/08. Increased Azasan to 150 mg 10/15/08. Discontinued Humira 11/03/08 after extreme fatigue and moderate muscle aches. Started Cimzia 12/4/08. Down to 5 mg/day of Pred now, and will continue to taper until completely off as long as the other meds keep me off the porcelain.

I'm convinced that Prednisone is the root of all evil, and primarily responsible for global warming.

Yup, the wonderful Roid Rage. At least at my house, my husband has spent enough time on prednisone himself, due to poison ivy, that he knows what it does to a person. It makes him a LOT more tolerant of the mood swings. In fact he's usually the one who notices it first, and points it out. Probably causes its taken out on him! turn

I can relate, Nanners!  The lower I go, the worse I get, as far as being grumpy goes.  I am currently at 5 mg and it is worse than when I was at 10 last week. I find myself apologizing a whole lot more when I am on the pred.  It is awful!  I usually try to "sugar coat" things but lately, I have been telling people like it is.

I have found even the smallest things will irk me and once I get to a certain degree of being upset, I am pretty much upset the rest of the day.  Oh man, It is NOT fun!  Acting like this is so NOT ME either!

Sometimes, I don't even want to be around myself....bad huh!

Going through an episode of it right now mad Fiance was going to take me to the grocery store to find ANYTHING to eat because I am starving. Instead he had a friend over from 6 ish to after 1 am while I sat in the bedroom waiting.
Hunger+steroids=very angry female..
I just want something to eat...
