Hi there, I hope that everybody had a merry christmas and wonderful safe holiday!!
I went to the doc, last week, he suggests that i get on cymbalta? He said that it will help with everything, the only thing is it isnt covered under ohip, so he thought he might write a special kind of letter in order to get it for me. Has anybody else ever been on this? Or is this more for fibro?
For now, he took me off of lithium, as he thinks that lithium may be causing my bowel problems. It sucks, i can already feel the effects of not being on it, i am prescribed it for a mood stabilizer. I am soo irritable i cant handle it, i feel like im gonna snap.
He put me on flexeril, which is a muscle relaxer, but he said that it will help with my anxiety as well, and with my pain.
This is just a temporary thing, until I can,if i can get on the cymbalta. I havent started the flexeril though, i havent made it to the drug store yet.
The newest symptom I have is another pain symptom, both elbows, are hurting like crazy, it feels like my bones are bruied when I touch them, it hurts mostly when lifting or typing, but it can also hurt real bad if im just sitting there not doing anything.
The doc said he is getting the arthritis society in touch with me, said that they will come and do therapy weekly for me, for free through OHIP, and that I may be able to get some massage therapy, and be able to get into a gym, to help strengthen what i have left of my muscles.
He did say that I have a whole sleu of symptoms, but no official diagnosis, except for fibromyalgia, and degenerative disc disease in my lower lumbar region, im beginning to wonder if its all through my body, grrrrrrrrrrrrr, so he said we are just gonna try one thing at a time, if that doesnt work, then we are going to try something else.
I have to stop typing now, as i cant anymore, take care everybody, and have a safe and happy holiday,
(((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))

I have heard that Cymbalta is good for pain and also depression. Can't hurt to give it a try and see if it helps your joint pain. Good luck!

Cymbalta is very good! Has your doctor ever talked about putting you on Lamictal as a mood stabilizer?  I started it about 6 months ago and it has been great.

Good Luck!

I have Crohn's and have also taken Cymbalta for anxiety.

My doctor suggested Cymbalta because I was on Luvox prior to my pregnancy, but after I had my baby the luvox made me extremely tired.

The cymbalta made me feel horrible. I threw up a lot on it. My mother said I was like a zombie on it. It made my mouth really dry, kept me from sleeping at night, and made my vision blurry.  I finally just stopped taking it.

I was on 30mg.

All medicines affect people differently, so you can't assume that your situation will be the same. Just talk to your doctor about side effects while taking this drug, and definitely start on a low dosage.

Good luck and best wishes!
