Does any one know of or take herbal remedies for Crohn's Disease? I am considering it as a supplement to my current Entocort. Unfortunately, allopaths in general know little about the topic. I am hoping for something that is purely an anti-inflammatory for the intestines, though don't know if that exists. And I'd rather have it as a tea. I've taken senna a few times; not planning to go beyond a week. Naturally, I would let my physician know, so please don't talk about that issue: I already know.

I use bee propolis and chamomile tea which are both natural anti-inflammatories and the bee propolis I use is 100% non-toxic and my GI told me to stick with it daily and indefinitely, it's been 5 yrs and I'm still doing well with it (BUT AVOID BEE PRODUCTS IF YOU'RE ALLERGIC TO BEES), also if you're pregnant or breastfeeding it should be avoided. BP is affordable (I buy it online from puritans pride) I take 2 500mg caps a day with no ill effects, it cut my BM's down in 1/2 when I was goin 30 times/day, stopped all my bleeding and lower back pain, cut my mucus, frequency down too. and for me it worked quickly, I started seeing results the next day, of course everyone is different but I heard about it from another crohnie who said it put him right into remission.

Those are great ideas. I drank some chamomile tea with rose hips recently. My friend says he gets totally sedated from it, but it didn't do much for me. I get a little sedated from any tea. Does one know if they're allergic to bees or not if they have a reaction from beeswax or honey? I never have, but that might not be enough to be certain.

If you've had honey with no issues then it's safe to say you're not allergic...if you drink chamomile before bed it can help you sleep, it helps with menstral cramps...I drink it first thing in the am everyday.
