Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that little girl made her arrival as scheduled on Dec 20th~ She weighed a whopping 5lbs 11oz and was 19 inches long. I think she was so tiny because #1) I have small babies and #2) I had a really rough time for the first half of the pregnancy because we didn't know the remicade wasn't working. Thank heavens for Humira!
She is PERFECT in every way and as healthy as can be. We even think she might be prettier than our first daughter (is that possible??? J/K!)
I really want to thank you all for your support. I know the Humira/pregnancy thing is new, so I just want to let any prospective moms know I've got living proof of a FANTASTIC outcome!!! Now, if I could just get her to sleep for more than 2 hours at a time.

Congrats Stef and thanks for the encouraging words. Pregnancy and biologics is touchy-territory, so I greatly appreciate your story! :)

Enjoy your little girl!

BTW, did they say why you have small babies? My girls were right at 3lbs when they were born at 29 weeks, which was 50%, so they would of been around 6-7lbs when born... just wondering, as they watched me for small babies because of Crohn's...

Congrats Stef on your new baby girl. May I ask what you named this new little treaure? And I am sure she is absolutely gorgeous. If I am not mistaken this is your third girl right? I had three girls myself, I am such a girl mom:)

Nanners, we named her Elisabeth (after my great grandmother), we call her Ellie.  This is girl #2.  There is an ornery monkey boy in the middle. :)  I love my son to pieces, but boys are a completely different monster! I love pink and frilly things! We think she is quite adorble, but we ARE a bit partial. :)  She has a head full of dark hair and a very mild temperament.
Kaycie - no explanation as to why on the small babies. I'm a petite woman and my husband, though quite the big guy now, was his mother's smallest baby. So, my best educated guess is that it's just in our gene pool. My other kids were 6lbs 6oz at 10 days early and 7lbs 3oz at 4 days late. So, they're small, but very close to average. This little girl came 12 days early and like I said the beginning of the pregnancy was rough. I had only gained about 10lbs by 24 weeks along.  There are so many things that could factor in.

Congrats - I love hearing the success stories. My husband and I just started trying to get pregnant and I am also on many meds. I am thrilled to hear that all went well!

Thanks and congrats again!!!!

Congrats Stef17!! Enjoy Ellie (I LOVE that name).

I have to thank you for all the tips you've given the other moms on here. Your formula bottle idea saved me over the holidays when I ended up in the ER and the inlaws had to give my girl formula for almost two days. She took it like a pro. I think you're also the one who suggested keeping a bouncer in the bathroom. That also has been a huge help.

Hope you stay healthy and Ellie starts to sleep a little longer in the coming weeks. :)
Hoping to stay in remission after the birth of a healthy baby girl. On Pentasa during my pregnancy, went med-free 2 months to nurse (stupid), but back on Pentasa and still nursing.

Congratulations!!! I too am partial to girls, I have 2 of my own.

Just adding my 2 cents on the small babies, both of mine were under 6 lbs. One was 4lbs 12 oz, the other was 5lbs 15oz. I was also 4lbs 12oz. My Mom was undiagnosed when I was born, I was undiagnosed with my first born, and on no meds with my second. For what that is worth. I know there are lots of other Moms here who had much more "normal" size babies, so it may just be my gene pool, but I have a 6'3" husband who was a big baby, so I expected to have bigger babies. Not that I'm complaining! They were healthy and beautiful, so that was all that mattered.

Enjoy your little bundle of love!!

Congrats! My baby girl came by c-sec and was 5 lbs 6 oz. Docs told me women with active CD while pregnant tend to have smaller babies.
I wish you and your family lots of happiness, health and... patience for those late night feedings! ;-)

Ha ha Stef, my oldest daughter has kids like you. A girl first, onery/goofy boy second, and then another little girl. I love baby girls alot. Don't get me wrong, I love my 3 grandsons to death, but I think I like how much calmer little girls are when they are little better. I think when they are teens I will probably like my grandsons better:)

Hi Stef How are you feeling and hope the wee one sleeps good. I think breast feeding helps them not have gas and sleep better. Hope your getting stronger each day. lol gail

Congrats!  I'm so excited for you!  You have given me piece of mind!!  I hope you continue to do well!!

My first baby (a girl) was 5 lbs. 14 oz.  I wasn't diagnosed with Crohn's until she was 8 months.  I have 10 weeks left (just had my last Remicade infusion today until after I deliver) with this baby girl and am wondering how big she'll be.  I'm measuring about the same as the first, so hopefully she won't be too much smaller!

i just got back on this forum to see positive stories about pregnancies while on meds, so thanks for the post!  we want to start trying for baby #2 this year and my dr. wants me to stay on remicade.  i trust her but it's so hard explaining it to 'regular' people (people who shriek if you eat lunch meat).

i was on 6MP w/my first baby.  born at 42 weeks he was 8 lbs even.

hope you get more sleep SOON!

-Diagnosed with Crohn's in 2000 when I was 21
-Took Asacol and 6MP while pregnant (healthy pregnancy/healthy baby!)
-Currently on Remicade and Pentasa
-My dad and 2 of my 3 siblings also have Crohn's.
