Hello everyone, and Happy New Year. Wow its been a couple weeks since me posting. Just wanted to give everyone and update on my recovery status from my bowel resection, which was done back on the 5th of November. As of now I am doing great, learning to cope with my fluctuating bowel movements but it seems everything is getting better. After being malnourished for the past couple of years due to crohn's and weighing a measley 103lbs at the time of surgery. I currently weigh 122lbs, wow huh. I'm still gaining things, are really lookin up, I have even started working out and exercising. I still have bouts of D, but it is easily zapped back under control with the help of bananas. I try and eat them on a daily basis now, they seem to really help. My tummy scar is hardly noticeable, except for near the bottom. Things r finally lookin up after such a long battle with this disease for the past 4 years, but I also know that taking my maintenance meds r a key factor. Just wanted to thank anyone on this forum who has ever given me any advice, this website is a true blessing to those in need of advice and guidance on how to deal withthis monster we called Crohn's.

WooHoo Stephen!!! Just remember how much stress you put yourself thru before the surgery and now look at you! I am so happy to hear how you are doing, and I think you should stick around and share your success story with some on the board who are due to have surgery soon too. Its awesome that you are gaining weight and now able to exercise some, you'll be fighting the ladies off in no time, if you aren't already:)

And the one comment I am so happy to hear is that you are taking maintainence med. So many think that the surgery has gotten them feeling better, so why take meds? But the answer is because you never want to feel like before again, and at least taking the meds helps to put that off some.

So glad you are doing so well, don't be a stranger. Oh and Happy New Year to you too.
