I have vomiting issues.... It started this summer & was only once in a while and would go away. Now it is more frequent & I have gotten sick at work (not pleasant) and all over my car as well.

Is vomiting common? My doctor thinks it's a problem with a partial obstruction or something. I don't know..... How do you know when you have an obstruction? What am I to do if it happens again? I hate ERs since I had a bad experience last year and just want to curl up in my own bed & not see any doctors when this happens due to the pain & exhaustion.

I am a bit afraid because there is no warning when this comes, I just get sick after I eat. Any advice?
Live for today, for tomorrow you might just get hit by a semi.

Hi When I had my obstruction I just went to emerg. in a ambulance and they admitted me .It was xmas day of last year. The thing is the nasty little thing kept coming back till I finally was sent to the hospital and had my resection of course that way I got to spend 5 days in the hospital before surgery. If it is obstruction you might need a resection. Don't wait and suffer it too long best to see about it and it is better after resection.lol gail

I agree it does sound as if you have some narrowing going on somewhere. That is always my first symptom of a obstruction. I think if necessary, you may have to put your fears aside and go to the ER. This is not something to play around with, there could be serious complications if you don't take care of it. At least put a call into your doc asap and let him know whats going on.

Good luck,

I have a major stricture and vomiting is the first sign that the disease is back (it arrives before a full obstruction). It started for me again last week and the GI sent me to the ER for an eval. Even if you don't have an obstruction (I knew I didn't because I've had them before and I didn't have the pain) your doc will want some tests done. I'd call the GI and see what he/she wants you to do. As annoying as the ER is, they can run the tests and make you more comfortable.

Hope you feel better soon.
Hoping to stay in remission after the birth of a healthy baby girl. On Pentasa during my pregnancy, went med-free 2 months to nurse (stupid), but back on Pentasa and still nursing.
