just wondering if there is a prep that needs to be done when getting this done? DD is going to be getting one, but the dr didn't say, just that they would call when she was to come in.

I dont recall much prep for it but it was a long time ago. If there is any it is not like the prep for a scope. The procedure was easy. A few wires like a EKG. a small box in a pouch connected to them and then you swallow the pill and go home, that evening you go back and they take it off and then you watch for the pill to pass. I never saw mine but the doc said it had passed. Hope all goes well...

When I had my camera shot, I had to prep like I was having a scope. But while your doing the test you get to eat and walk around, I went shopping. It's not that bad, but they haven't made it through my small intestines yet. shocked

I had one a few weeks ago, and I had to stop eating 12 hours before the test, but there was no other prep involved.  I did have to wait for about 4 hours after the test started before I could have anything to eat or drink.  The worst part was that I had to be at the hospital at 6:30am for the test.  I've never seen the capsule again, but I assume it's passed.

Bektold. Doc told me mine went through so fast it was still taking pictures when it came out. Somehow in my mind , thats not a pretty picture. I can only hope it was pointed south at that time.
