For the past few days, I have had a new pain/feeling in the stomach. I feel like I've been punched and I have an overall nausea and dull pain everywhere. My bowel movements haven't really changed (D a few times a day, worse after I eat). This weird feeling is the worst part. Has anyone else had this? Tylenol hasn't helped. I am trying to figure out if it is a virus or Crohn's. Thanks!

Sorry you're feeling like this, cat...

I've been having some similar wicked pains myself this last week. It's actually been so uncomfortable I have barely been able to wear a bra because the bottom of the bra pressures the top of the area in my gut that hurts... high in the middle about where my ribs meet and slightly lower.

I've been taking one Hyomax (hycosamine - anti-spasmodic) in the morning, and it's been doing a pretty good job of killing the pain... My bm's continue to improve, despite the pain, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I really don't know what it is, or if it is even crohn's... I just always assume so these days. I've been kind of nauseated as well, so I would guess it is SOMETHING crohnie... dunno what.

That probably wasn't very helpful, but you are definitely not alone! I hope you feel better soon.

Spiders - It sounds like you are going through something similar. I hope you feel better too! I'm gonna give this a few more days before I call my GI doc.

Hi catpower,

Do you sort of feel like you have the flu?  Two things come to mind as I've also had pain before that feels like I've been kicked in the stomach.  On one occasion, it was appendicitis and I had to have emergency surgery to have my appendix removed.  On other occasions it was my Crohn's acting up, and a couple times could have even been partial blockage (I have Crohn's of the terminal ileum).

It would probably be a good idea to contact your doctor just to make sure it's nothing serious.

Hope you feel better soon!

Have had Crohn's of terminal ileum for 8 yrs, but finally accepted diagnosis when it was confirmed Feb. 2008.

Allergic/hypersensitivity to Pentasa, Entocort, and now 6-MP!  I had started Mercaptopurine on 7/23/08, but had to stop on 8/7 due to it causing E. Nodosum with flu-like symptoms.  VERY RARE causation!!
