Insomnia still plagues me. And, I think some of it is now I cannot turn my mind off. The steroids caused a lot of it. What I'm fighting is that when I finally DO fall asleep by 2-3am, I'm HAVE to get up by 7am, or my daughter gets up around 6:30-7am.

I would like to start getting to bed NO LATER then 11pm, ideally 10pm, if my day goes well.

Any idea on calming things? I usually do puzzles and listen to Nick & Nite, but my old tricks are failing me. I have for the last few nights taken my Xanax just before bed, and it helps a LITTLE..

I have Ambien, but it quite honestly knocks me out so cold that I only feel comfortable taking it on a weekend whenever my husband is home and can tend to our daughter.

I'm just EXTREMELY tired in the mornings from not being able to get a good nights sleep.

Sorry to keep bugging everyone with all these frivolous questions. You are all so extremely helpful and kind to me. I'm *semi* versed in Crohn's, but NOTHING like some of you! Now, if you'd like to discuss infertility or Cloaca, I'm your gal! ;)

i usually have a floor fan blowing on medium speed so that it provides background(white noise) and keeps air flow moving around the room. when things are quiet, i tend to hear everything and if there is nothing to hear, i start imagining i'm hearing things. sometimes a soft music radio station or cd playing low helps to. the fan works for me though.

provolunteer - Never thought of that! We used those techniques for my daughter when she came home from the NICU. In fact, what we ended up finding worked for her was those middle of the night boring talk shows. She was so used to the nurses talking at the stations, that it kind of gave the same effect to her.

It's not 2am...and I haven't even finished taking my night meds and I don't see me falling asleep for a good hour... this just sucks!

i know, by the time i'm ready to sleep, my alarm clock goes off and i need to get the kids up for school. i am lucky though that they my son is old enough to drive(17) and if his car was not broke down, he would be driving them to school. i do let him take my truck sometimes but because he was riding with his best friend last week and was hit head on by somebody making a left turn in front of them, i won't let him drive this week. i do go back to bed when i get home and sleep til around 12 or 1 and get better rest than i would sleeping all night. i have blankets over the windows to keep it dark and the fan blowing and i snuggle into the comforters. when i start getting too warm under the covers, i know it's time to wake up. when we stay in a hotel, i turn on the bathroom fan for noise or if we're at the beach, open the balcony door and listen to the ocean. very calming for me. both of my kids are the same way, gotta have  a fan on blowing the air around them and providing a soft noise.

Glad I'm not alone! My daughter is now very horrible, she has to have a tv or NOISE around her to sleep. Seriously, we leave her downstairs on a fold-out sofa (she's just 17 months) and she sleeps on it until we go to bed. She USED to sleep in her own bed, but when I got hospitalized for 8 days in July, she has slept with us since. She still *knows* mommy is sick. Bless her heart, besides her normal terrible 2s beginning, she really is a flexible little girl. Though we are struggling hard with naps and bedtimes anymore!

Off to bed for now... I HAVE to get some rest..and I think I might be able to now... 4 hours of sleep is enough, right? Ugh! Hate this...absolutely HATE this!
